New year, new Basica® – Our resolutions

New year, new Basica®

We have been making resolutions at Basica® since 1926. Resolutions that we keep, year after year. Our mission is to help people find their “inner centre”. To achieve this goal, we combine tradition and high quality standards with a firm belief in innovation – and this year’s launch of our new Basica® brand identity shows just how well this approach works!

When it comes to New Year’s resolutions, however, we all know how hard it can be to keep them. So we would like to show you how to make that part easier – and how Basica® can help you along the path to success.

Why is it so hard to stick to my resolutions?

A resolution is typically defined as a firm intention, something that we consciously and purposefully set out to achieve. That is fine in theory, but the fact that we are creatures of habit makes it a lot harder than it sounds! Routines make life easier, so it can be tough to focus on making a change to them and keeping our resolutions.

You are probably familiar with the most common New Year’s resolutions:

  • Get more exercise.
  • Eat a healthier diet.
  • Spend more time with family and friends.
  • Reduce my stress levels.
  • Quit smoking.
  • Spend more time on myself.
  • Lose weight.

But here is something you might not know: On average, it takes 66 days to convert a new routine into a habit – and that is why it often takes five or six attempts to make our resolutions a lasting reality. So try not to be discouraged if you do not succeed the first time around! Below we explain why it is still worth making the effort.

Striving for well-being is a great resolution

What is the point of making resolutions? They can help draw our attention to negative aspects of our lives and encourage us to make positive changes. Making a specific resolution motivates us to take meaningful action towards a goal and, in the best-case scenario, to achieve it. Our online magazine offers the support you need to make this happen. We hope the information we provide will help you along the path towards physical and mental well-being.

Because our mission is to help you live your life in balance.

But what makes a good resolution? And what specific things help us stick to it? Basically, a resolution needs to have the potential to become a routine – and there are a few key things we can do to nudge them in the right direction:

  1. Set one or two realistic goals.
  2. Make your New Year’s resolutions as specific as possible.
  3. Set short-, medium- and long-term goals.
  4. Reward yourself for reaching milestones along the way.
  5. Always have a Plan B.
  6. Get support from allies.
  7. Tell other people about your plans

A holistic approach to achieving inner balance – with Basica®

Finding our “inner centre” has long been synonymous with the idea of achieving balance in our life. Yet the fast-paced modern world is constantly pushing us to evolve and to be flexible. The hectic nature of everyday life can make it difficult to find and maintain our inner balance. It can be hard to focus on eating a balanced diet and getting regular exercise.

One thing that helps is finding reliable constants in our life that can counter this sense of stress and constant change. Basica® is one such constant. Available since 1926, it was originally sold as a “mineral compound based on the Ragnar Berg method”. Today, it has a brand new identity forged from a unique and harmonious combination of tradition and modernity. Our motto is “For inner balance” – and this perfectly reflects the aspirations of anyone searching for a healthy balance.
